Immunization and Vaccine-related Implementation Research Advisory Committee (‎IVIR-AC)‎ recommendations - March 2019

A review was begun of the WHO and UNICEF estimates of national immunization coverage (WUENIC) methodology, alternative methods, inputs and ways to improve the processes. The IVIRAC was informed of the timeline for soliciting alternative approaches for WUENIC and was requested to provide input on the WUENIC methods and approach, focusing on their relevance and possible constraints. IVIR-AC was furthermore asked to comment on the conditions under which the current WUENIC methods should be adapted or alternative methods adopted and how WUENIC or alternative methods would accommodate contradictory data or trends in, for example, doses administered or survey results.
