Background Paper 1 August 2010

Overview

The Priority Medical Devices (PMD) project aims at identifying the need for medical devices in 15 high-burden diseases, diseases which account for almost two thirds of the global burden of disease. The first part of this document outlines the methodology used to identify gaps between the need for and the availability of medical devices. The second part reveals the results of two surveys conducted both at country and specialist level.
