Suggested minimum variables for reporting cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown aetiology in children: line list, 17 June 2022

Overview

This document is a list of suggested minimum variables for reporting cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown aetiology in children to WHO, for the purposes of global situational awareness and reporting, and further epidemiological investigation. Member States are encouraged to submit the minimum data on all cases meeting the WHO working case definition, through their IHR National Focal Points to their respective WHO Regional IHR Focal Points.  

An Excel template of the line list accompanies this document, to facilitate data entry. The data will be aggregated and may be shared publicly in aggregate form through WHO information products. 

This document is part of a package of guidance for this event, which includes interim laboratory testing guidance and a clinical Case Report Form to support Member States with case investigation and reporting.
