WHO-AIMS Instrument

Overview

The World Health Organization Assessment Instrument for Mental health Systems (WHO-AIMS) has been conceptualized and developed by the WHO Department of Mental Health and Substance Use (MSD), in collaboration with colleagues inside and outside of WHO. The instrument has been developed primarily by the following members of the MSD department: Shekhar Saxena, Antonio Lora, Mark van Ommeren, Tom Barrett, and Jodi Morris. The instrument has benefited from technical inputs by Itzhak Levav and Pratap Sharan. Dr Benedetto Saraceno has provided the vision and overall guidance for the development of WHO-AIMS.
