Overview

Decades of war and internal conflict have left Afghanistan’s health system fragmented and severely under-resourced. The involuntary return of refugees from neighbouring countries, widespread displacement and multiple disease outbreaks have further compounded these public health challenges, with over 22.9 million people requiring urgent support in 2025.
