Building healthier futures: why comprehensive sexual and reproductive health matters

Overview

Comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are essential to achieving the right to health and are a cornerstone for sustainable development, economic prosperity and peace. Amidst multiple, interlinked global crises, protecting and promoting comprehensive SRHR across the life course plays a crucial role in building population resilience at individual, community, sub-national and national levels. Even in the most challenging environments, governments can prioritize sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in ways that promote rights, progressing steadily towards realization.
