Documenting health system response, adaptations, and innovations in SRHR for COVID-19
HRP Project Brief

Overview
The disruption of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services due to COVID-19 has required adaptive, innovative mechanisms and spurred new models for ensuring universal access and delivery of services. A range of modifications to service delivery to ensure access
has been included within the WHO Guidance on Maintaining Essential Health Services in the context of COVID-19 that was published in June 2020. These include, for example, telemedicine and other digital interventions, modifications to prescriptions
of SRH medicines, expanding training approaches, rational delegation of tasks and task sharing of service delivery across cadres of health workers as well as self-care by users themselves.
This project aims to consolidate and build evidence on promising health systems strengthening approaches and modifications for maintaining access to and delivery of SRH services and commodities within primary health care that can inform future policies and practices. This documentation of innovative service delivery adaptations and lessons learned is conducted through a combination of three complementary methods.
