Eastern Mediterranean Region: WHO Health Emergency Appeal 2024

Overview

About 140 million people in the East Mediterranean Region (EMRO) are in need of humanitarian assistance and the region continues to face health emergencies due to conflict, climate and disease outbreak. In the third quarter of 2023 alone, the region experienced six new emergencies including the escalation of a cholera outbreak in Sudan on the back of an ongoing conflict, floods in Libya, major earthquakes in Morocco and Afghanistan and the escalation of the conflict in the occupied Palestinian territory.
