Be He@lthy Be Mobile: Implementing Doing What Matters in Times of Stress in Chatbots

Overview

Stress represents an important public health issue, so learning how to cope with stress is important for our mental and physical wellbeing. In the context of the Be He@lthy Be Mobile initiative, the World Health Organization and the International Telecommunication Union have developed an adaptation package to implement the Doing What Matters in Times of Stress (DWM) Guide in any channel that supports text or voice. DWM is a stress management guide published by WHO to help people learn 5 skills to manage stress. The adaptation package consists of a worksheet with programme content in English to facilitate translation, a flowchart with the logic structure for user journey implementation in a chat- or voice- bot environment, and a 2-page document that guides implementation. The package is intended to assist policy- and decision-makers and implementers to establish a national or large-scale Stress Management intervention as part of wider mental health policy efforts.
