NCD Hard Talks Webinar: Reducing Risks, Averting Deaths!: Presentation slides

Overview

Health promotion research, policy and action provide comprehensive evidence-based instruments to address global challenges as well as to design a future that is conducive to the health and well-being of the public and the planet.  Many “best” -cost-effective- population interventions for tackling NCD and their risk factors embrace a health promotion approach. Over 50% of all NCD can be prevented, if their risk factors are addressed and conditions are changed so that healthy choices become easy choices.  Disease prevent and health promotion also contribute to improve the resiliency and sustainability of health services and systems. Health promotion expands beyond the health sector and individual responsibility for healthy life-styles to pro-actively nurture health and well-being. It seeks to ensure the co-creation of conducive conditions that enables all people to increase control and improve their health by embracing societal efforts, e.g. from, among others, the governments, civil society, academia, private sector, faith-based organizations. Policy interventions that combined many stakeholders and approaches lead to better health outcomes and well-being.
