Primary Child Care: A manual for health workers

Overview
Primary Child Care: A manual for health workers has been written for health workers who provide primary care of infants and children, either during home visits or at health facilities with limited resources, and usually with little opportunity to refer children for further help. This revised edition of the manual (2009, ISBN: 9781405066440) is the result of an international effort coordinated by the Department of Child and Adolescent Health and Development.
The manual focuses on how to do a basic assessment of an infant or child, and how to prevent and manage the conditions and diseases that cause the most deaths among children. The revised edition is consistent with guidelines for Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), has the latest treatment information, and has been expanded to include certain conditions not covered in the earlier version.
