| Emergency Situational Updates

Overview
The Greater Horn of Africa (GHoA) is one of the most food-insecure regions globally, with food high levels of insecurity and malnutrition driven by food shortages, poor services, conflict, disease outbreaks, weather extremes, and economic shocks.
Conflicts in Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia are worsening food insecurity and disease outbreaks by driving displacement and disrupting services. Flooding has displaced thousands, and the upcoming La Niña may increase flooding and disease risks, while drought could further strain health services.
