Overview
The Quadripartite agencies – the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) constituted a working group on engagement of young people in Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). The primary objective is to provide a platform for youth serving organizations to take part in global work to address the growing threat and impact of AMR. The members of the working group have supported the Quadripartite’s work in sensitizing young people on AMR. The working group has 14 members representing various youth-led and youth-serving organizations across the world.The second annual meeting of the working group was held at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, on 19-20 September 2024. The members committed to continue their work towards increasing the visibility of youth engagement in global AMR action, build wider capacity among children and youth to take up AMR issues and reach out to more young people to advance the advocacy priorities of the youth.
