Overview

The 7th Asia-Pacific Network on Access to Medicines under Universal Health Coverage (UHC) workshop took place in Delhi, India, from June 13th to 14th, 2023. The primary focus of this workshop was to facilitate the exchange of good practices related to pricing policies, price monitoring, and enhancing access to medical products at the primary healthcare level in order to advance the goals of UHC.

During the workshop, participants engaged in discussions regarding the emerging challenges associated with accessing medicines both during and after public health emergencies. The sessions aimed to address strategies to strengthen preparedness and establish resilient supply chains in response to such emergencies.

The workshop specifically emphasized the challenges faced by countries in developing robust supply chains to effectively respond to public health crises. Additionally, it concentrated on the exchange of best practices concerning pricing policies and the monitoring of prices for medical products. The importance of improving access to medical products at the primary healthcare level was underscored as a critical step toward realizing UHC in the Asia-Pacific region.
