Water Sanitation and Health
Our vision and mission are the attainment by all peoples of the lowest possible burden of water and sanitation-related disease through primary prevention.

Monitoring and evidence

Monitoring is a crucial activity for extending and sustaining WASH services. WHO, in collaboration with UNICEF, leads global monitoring on WASH systems and on coverage. The resulting evidence from WHO monitoring activities helps to guide decision-makers at the local, national and global levels and is a key component of measuring the success of the Sustainable Development Goals. Data from WHO  monitoring activities are also available in the UN-Water SDG 6 Data Portal.
