Engagement with the private sector on noncommunicable diseases

WHO engages with both the public and private sectors in its efforts to reduce noncommunicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. This is in line with recommendations made at UN high-level meetings on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases. Engagement is through regular dialogues with representatives from international business associations, and the pharmaceutical, health technology and other industries whose products and services impact in some way on human health.

From the local to the global level, the private sector can help support disease control efforts.

This web page provides information on WHO’s interactions with the private sector in support of efforts to prevent and manage noncommunicable diseases.
