Goal

Maximize awareness on hearing loss and advocacy for hearing care among policy-makers, professionals, communities, and the general public in all Member States through the World Hearing Day (WHD).

Objectives

1. Increase reach of  World Hearing Day (WHD) activities to 95% of the 194 WHO Member States by 2026.

2. Increase involvement of governments and its institutions in the WHD activities.

3. Increase traditional and social media coverage of WHD events to amplify its reach and impact.

4. Make World Hearing Day an official UN recognized day.

5. Strengthen support to celebrate WHD worldwide through website, non-UN translation, grants, guides, etc.

6. Increase WHD workstream members engagement.

Key performance indicators (KPIs) for 2024–2025

  1. Increased number of WHD events (thorugh number of countries, translations, government officials involvements, social media reach, small grants, donors).
  2. WHD workstream members engagement through participation in meeting and involvement in initiatives.
  3. Adherence to timeline for launch of translated materials, report of ativities and small grand scheme.

 

Achievements

Launched the worldhearingday.org website with live data of WHD events.

Increased numbers of countries celebrating WHD and number of non- UN language translation of resources.

Improved WHD events registration and reporting process.
