Uncorrected refractive errors like short-sightedness and long-sightedness are the leading cause of vision impairment worldwide. Without diagnosis or treatment, they can hinder learning, work, and daily life. Yet millions still lack access to vision and eye care resulting in preventable vision loss.

Have vision is a digital storytelling platform that shares real-life experiences of people whose lives were transformed by something as simple as a pair of eyeglasses. It also features inspiring stories from vision and eye care personnel showing their vital role in making quality eye care accessible to all.

By telling these stories, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of eye health and advocate for universal access to vision screening and affordable eyeglasses, ensuring everyone can live with fairness, health, and dignity.

This effort is part of the WHO’s SPECS 2030 initiative to improve public understanding of refractive error and how it can be effectively addressed.

Every month, we will highlight a new Have vision story. Whether your life changed thanks to a pair of eyeglasses or an eye care provider making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
