Scheme Independent Advisory Committee

The Independent Advisory Committee (IAC) to the Scheme provides advice to WHO on the criteria for the selection of the testing laboratories, the evaluation and testing procedure, the harmonized testing protocols, the reporting templates for testing results, and the testing results of products submitted to the Scheme for evaluation. Members of the IAC are experts in drinking-water quality, microbiology, water treatment technology and/or regulation and have a demonstrated commitment to advancing public health goals. In serving on the IAC they agree to respect confidentiality, and the impartiality and independence required of WHO. They must be free of real, potential or apparent conflicts of interest, and are as such, required to complete the Declaration of Interest for WHO Experts before taking up their responsibilities.

The terms of reference of the IAC can be found in the Scheme Procedure for evaluation.
