Cloud-Based System for Effective Surveillance and Control of COVID-19
The Honghu Hybrid System (HHS) was developed as a pilot practice for COVID-19 hybrid surveillance and control system, in response to the emerging need for an innovative surveillance system. In this pilot practice, HHS provided a stable trend of positive reports, which provided strong evidence for the assessment of local countermeasure with high population coverage (>95% of the residents) and daily active reports (>600 000 person-times).
HHS played a critical role for local authorities to evaluate the effectiveness of disease management and make timely adjustments accordingly. Secondly, HHS provided a validated in-hospital mortality prediction system for patients with COVID-19 to improve health outcomes through prioritized medical resources and improved clinical care. HHS also collected discharged patient’s daily symptom reports and achieved 100% coverage within 3 days. HHS helped strengthen the checkpoints on the full chain of COVID-19 surveillance and control, including “early test, early report, early isolation, and early treatment.”
