National survey on the risk factors of noncommunicable diseases in Viet Nam, 2021

Overview

The STEPS survey is a simple, standardized method for collecting, analysing and disseminating data on key noncommunicable disease (NCD) risk factors in countries. The survey instrument covers key behavioural risk factors including: tobacco use; alcohol use; physical inactivity and unhealthy diets; as well as key biological risk factors, such as being overweight/obese, having high blood pressure, high blood glucose levels and abnormal blood lipids. STEPS 2021 is the second round of the survey, providing critical data for Viet Nam to monitor progress in implementation of the nine global NCD voluntary targets, the National Strategy and the Healthy Viet Nam Programme 2018-2030.
