Neglected Tropical Diseases
The Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (MTD) unit aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate the health burden caused by vectorborne and parasitic diseases in the Region, including malaria, dengue and other arbo-viral diseases and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
The Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (MTD) unit aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate the health burden caused by vectorborne and parasitic diseases in the Region, including malaria, dengue and other arbo-viral diseases and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). To achieve this, the unit works closely with Member States in the Region by providing guidance and technical assistance to develop, implement and monitor national plans in line with relevant global and regional strategies, guidelines and frameworks.
