The WHO Regional Office for Europe has established the Technical Advisory Group on Building an Innovation Ecosystem for Public Health (TAG-BIEFPH) to address the complex health challenges facing the European Region. This expert group will play a pivotal role in reimagining how innovation can be strategically positioned to serve public health effectively.
Key objectives
The TAG-BIEFPH has the following objectives:
- conduct comprehensive policy analysis for innovation in public health;
- identify and scale up impactful public health innovations;
- assess country capacity needs for innovation;
- explore and recommend governance and financing mechanisms for public health innovation;
- develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks; and
- provide strategic recommendations for the development of a strategy for harnessing health innovation in the Region
Composition
The TAG-BIEFPH comprises 15 leading experts from diverse backgrounds, including policy analysis, innovation ecosystem development, health economics, public health, impact investing, and government decision-making. The group represents a balanced mix of skills, geographic distribution, and gender across the WHO European Region.
