About us

The Alliance of Countries on the Fight against Tuberculosis was established to keep the important issue of ending TB in the spotlight by raising awareness, sustaining focus, and promoting concrete actions. This builds on the commitments made by world leaders in the political declaration of the 2023 UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on the Fight against TB. The Alliance will prioritize-efforts to end TB both within the United Nations in New York and, when possible, beyond, in close coordination with ongoing efforts in Geneva and globally.

With this purpose, the Alliance was created with several key missions, including to:

  1.  continue the conversation among countries, to highlight the importance of efforts in fighting tuberculosis;
  2. support countries to strengthen the implementation commitments on areas essential to fight tuberculosis;
  3. support the inclusion and deliberation of tuberculosis related issues in other relevant groupings of countries, mainly within the United Nations; and
  4. promote the implementation of key and potential initiatives that aim to support countries in fighting against tuberculosis.
