GLL learning mechanisms
In working closely with countries, the GLL has developed a blended approach to link and share front-line experiences globally. Learning mechanisms employed by the GLL have focused on virtual, as well as in-person connectivity, to facilitate the sharing, documentation and spread of front-line experiences on quality.
Knowledge Platform

The online knowledge platform allows for the co-development and exchange of information, as well as enabling access to published and de novo tools and resources on quality of care.

Learning pods

Learning pods, also known as sub-communities, are groups that actively work to define and complete a task, project, initiative, or specific products. Learning pods operate within a safe environment on the GLL knowledge platform.
Activated Learning Pods
- National Quality Policy and Strategy: This learning pod aims to learn from country experiences in developing and implementing national quality policies and strategies. The learning pod has a robust resource center to support countries in the development and implementation of national quality policies and strategies.
- Technical area linkages: The work on technical area linkages allows for exploring how quality is taken forward in specific populations groups, population-based programmes or the wider health systems environment.
- Compassion: This learning pod explores how compassion can drive improvements in quality of care at different levels of the system. The focus of this work is on collating, and synthesizing experiences on compassion across the globe. Quarterly Global Health Compassion Rounds are organized jointly with the Taskforce for Global Health to share action on compassion across levels of the health system.

Knowledge Products

Knowledge products describe concepts, theories, interventions and actions; and are developed based on in-country implementation to inform local change and action.
- Action briefs capture local interventions or actions from country work that may be adapted for use and application in other countries.
- Knowledge briefs capture ideas, concepts or theories to enhance understanding and inform implementation in a particular topic.
Knowledge products are made available on the GLL knowledge platform.
Country deep-dives

Country deep dives are opportunities to gain in-depth knowledge on improvement activities that have been implemented in the country. They afford countries an opportunity to reflect on their improvement journey and show lessons learnt on the road to improvement.
Learning laboratory events

A learning laboratory event is often comprised of a small group of people to allow for individuals to share detailed experiences. The event brings people together to share, challenge, and spark innovation on improving quality of care.
Global learning webinars

Periodic webinars act as a mechanism for sharing emerging lessons in the field of quality. The interactive webinars are open to all. Webinars focus on sharing experiences with the aim of catalyzing change.
