Call for data

Countries are invited to actively participate in the global effort of advancing rabies data collection.

Information about data type, definitions, and disaggregation are described in the WHO Expert Consultation on Rabies: WHO TRS N°1012.

You can contribute to understand rabies disease burden, and the impact of interventions, build awareness of rabies, and inform policy decisions, accurately forecast vaccine, immunoglobulin, and other resourcing needs and measure progress towards global rabies elimination by sharing your rabies surveillance data with WHO.

Data can be shared using:

  • this excel template (also available in french, check link on the right side of the page), or
  • the WHO Integrated Data Platform (WIDP). With this DHIS2 based platform, data can either be entered directly in the web browser or via upload of a rabies data template ( download the rabies data template).  WIDP further offers the possibility to visualize the data through a digital dashboard with charts, maps and tables and download a data report. To request access to the DHIS2 platform including training, submit data you already have collected, and for further comments and queries, please contact the zoonotic NTD team at botek@who.int.
