Web-based oxygen scale-up plan guidance launch, new technical products and GO2AL WG3 updates
WHO is hosting a special webinar to showcase oxygen scale-up initiatives to complement and support partners and Member States in their efforts to develop national medical oxygen scale-up plans and implement planned activities.
The feature of this webinar will be the launch of the web-based National medical oxygen scale-up plan development guidance – a resource co-developed by WHO, partner organizations and Member States. Also showcased will be several technical products, and the Global Oxygen Alliance's (GO2AL) working group 3 (WG3) country readiness and implementation will highlight activities and services to support Member States with their oxygen scale-up initiatives.
Background
In May of 2024, the WHO Clinical Management and Operations Unit, Country Readiness Strengthening Department of the World Health Emergencies Programme held the National oxygen scale-up framework meeting: Road to oxygen in Dakar, Senegal. This meeting convened Member States and partners to reach consensus on the necessary components of national medical oxygen scale-up to guide plan development. As a next step, WHO is hosting a virtual workshop series to introduce practical and applicable knowledge for Member States and partners to expand on or develop costed national oxygen scale-up plans. Registration for workshops in this series can be found here.
This webinar serves as a complement to these oxygen scale-up activities.
