Essential Medicines and Health Technologies

The Essential Medicines and Health Technologies (EMT) unit supports Member States to improve access to essential, high-quality, safe, effective and affordable medicines and health products. EMT works across teams to support countries to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and improve access to medicines for vaccines and health products for key public health programmes as well as during emergencies. Its key areas of focus include strengthening pharmaceutical systems, setting regional agenda for access to medicines, and strengthening regional platforms for regulatory convergence and cooperation for medicines, vaccines and other health products.
