Avian influenza A(H7N9) - surveillance archives
In 2013, China detected the world’s first human cases of influenza A(H7N9). While sporadic cases continue to be detected, usually in people in close contact with poultry, the virus does not currently spread easily from person to person.
WHO continues to monitor human cases of influenza A(H7N9) and will conduct further risk assessments as new information becomes available. Reports of human cases of influenza A(H7N9) are now included in the Avian Influenza Weekly Update.
