Overview
In 2021, EVIPNet spearheaded the groundbreaking WHO Global Evidence-to-Policy (E2P) Summit 2021, a global gathering that convened distinguished policymakers, researchers, and pioneers in evidence-to-policy endeavors over three impactful days. A momentous outcome of this summit was the formulation of a resounding Call to Action, urging EVIPNet Member States to embrace institutionalized Evidence-Informed Decision-Making (EIDM), champion EIDM norms and tools, bolster knowledge translation capabilities, and enhance access to timely and pertinent evidence within their health systems.
Building upon the success of the WHO E2P Summit 2021, WHO is organizing the Global E2P Summit 2023. This virtual gathering will unite a diverse array of E2P stakeholders, presenting an unparalleled opportunity to delve into recent advancements within the E2P community and evaluate the progress made by Member States in response to EVIPNet's Call to Action.
Scope and Purpose
The WHO Global E2P Summit 2023 is a pivotal event that brings together experts, policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders from around the world to delve into the realm of evidence-informed policy-making (EIP). The Summit aims to address the critical gaps and challenges in translating evidence into effective policies and promoting societal change.
The scope of the Summit encompasses a wide range of topics, including catalyzing evidence-informed decision-making, building collaborations and partnerships across the evidence ecosystem, engaging citizens to foster trust in science, and institutionalizing evidence-informed policy-making. The Summit explores the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing collaborative work and improving the E2P landscape.
With a diverse agenda featuring keynote remarks, panel discussions, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities, the purpose of the Summit is to facilitate knowledge exchange, inspire innovative approaches, and provide practical insights for policymakers and practitioners.
