The Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) is a United Nations-backed not-for profit foundation working to increase access to, and facilitate the development of, life-saving medicines for low- and middle-income countries. MPP negotiates with patent holders for licences that permit generic pharmaceutical companies to manufacture and distribute patented medicines in developing countries. The licences also provide the freedom to develop new treatments such as fixed‑dose combinations and special formulations for children. This page lists products currently licensed to the MPP relating to HIV, hepatitis C and tuberculosis (TB). An interactive map and table to access to medicines tracker can be found here.
