Review Committee regarding Standing Recommendations for COVID-19

The IHR Review Committee regarding Standing Recommendations for COVID-19 is convened pursuant to Articles 16, 50.1.(b) and 53 of the IHR, also considering the advice of the IHR Emergency Committee on the COVID-19 pandemic. This Review Committee is holding its first meeting on 27 July 2023.

Noting that, on 5 May 2023, the COVID-19 pandemic ceased to constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, and that Temporary Recommendations, valid until 4 August 2023, were issued pursuant to Article 15 of the IHR, this Review Committee is providing its views and technical advice to the Director-General with respect to Standing Recommendations for COVID-19, as proposed by the Director-General. The Terms of Reference of this Review Committee are available here.

This Review Committee will function in accordance with the WHO Regulations for Expert Advisory Panels and Committees.
